The season of Lent is all about sacrifice. Catholics traditionally sacrifice one thing that is important to them during the 40 days of Lent. Most often, we choose food items because that might be easiest or we might feel grateful to have an excuse to restrict certain foods.

But Lent is not an excuse to diet.

If your intentions are simply to diet, choose something else to either give up or start doing for 40 days. Give up speaking negatively about your body or start setting a daily intention. Get creative and you may just decide to stick with it past the 40 days!
